Because the wheel remains in contact with the terrain, it follows the shortest, fastest path to rejoin the front end's forward momentum. East Peak employs Marin's Quad-Link System to guide the rear wheel in a manner that optimizes obstacle clearance and efficient forward motion. Employs Fox rear shock with rebound adjustment; front fork uses Marzocchi suspension with 120mm of travel, preload and rebound adjustment and lockout. Features Mavic rims, for hardcore X-C performance that won't weigh you down. First, upon impact a swingarm instantly increases the bike's overall wheelbase, allowing the front end of the bike to continue forward uninhibited. Impact with bumps makes most suspension systems redirect a bike's rear-end momentum upward rather than forward. The East Peak is too smart for that. Next, the swingarm efficiently moves the rear wheel over the obstacle. Shimano performance shifters and derailleurs provide smooth, instantaneous shifting through all 27 speeds. Swingarm and mainframe tubes are shaped using a hydroform process that optimizes overall weight and enhances strength at critical joints. Truvativ triple chainrings and Shimano nine-speed cassette provide gearing options for any terrain.
