7005-grade aluminum frame features road-bike geometry, the best design for creating and maintaining speed while cruising down the avenue. Aluminum frames are inherently vertically stiff, which promotes quick acceleration and efficient transmission of leg power through the drivetrain. Equipped with a slender, lightweight WTB Silverado Sport saddle. Flat handlebar reduces strain on your hands, wrists and shoulders, and increases your field of view so hazards are more easily seen. Frame is triple-butted—the tube walls are thick at the ends and narrow twice toward the middle—to maintain strength while reducing weight. Lightweight carbon-fiber seat stays and front fork cushion road shock while maintaining the performance of the aluminum frame. Platform pedals with toe cages enhance pedaling efficiency and accommodate most athletic shoes. Power-modulated, linear-pull brakes provide controlled deceleration and full stopping power when you need it. Shimano derailleurs provide responsive shifting through all 24 speeds. Shimano mountain-bike style shifters are comfortable and intuitive to use. The Marin® Lucas Valley combines road-bike performance with the comfort and enhanced field of view of an upright ride. Wheelset features lightweight Alex rims, Formula hubs and smooth-rolling Kenda Road tires. You power the bike via an FSA 53/42/30 crankset, turning an 8-speed, 12-24 cassette.
