A Mavic exclusive, Maxtal aluminum alloy is 30% stronger than 6061 aluminum for lighter, livelier rims. Braking surfaces are milled to improve braking friction and eliminate shuddering. Featuring a redesigned rear hub and front rim, Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels stand up to the rigors of racing, training and touring. Front rim profile has been lowered to 22mm for reduced sluggishness and improved handling. Isopulse™ lacing and mounting on the rear hub keeps spokes at a constant tension for added stability and efficient energy transmission. Rim joints are welded and milled to eliminate shuddering during braking and to provide superior wheel balance. Rim's upper bridges are left undrilled, effectively increasing the wheel's rigidity and friction resistance. Sealed cartridge bearings are removable and easily maintained; they're micro-adjustable to match various riding conditions. Spoke lacing: radial front, Isopulse™ rear.
