Avid BB7 disc brakes provide powerful deceleration; even commuters enjoy the handy secondary levers on the flats, meant to aid cyclo-style dismounts. Beefy WTB Cross Wolf tires clear mud quickly for continuous traction on track; tread pattern rolls smoothly over pavement. Dirt or pavement, it's all the same to Element; it comes race-ready, but add fenders and a rack and you're set for all-weather road riding. Element's high ground clearance keeps your pedals above rough track; its short top tube promise agile handling through technically difficult curves. Features the FSA Orbit X headset, quite possibly the smoothest and most durable in its class. Lightweight and strong, the AN6 aluminum frame provides the vertical stiffness required for quick acceleration and powerful climbs. Platform pedals with toe clips accommodate many casual shoes (but we suggest supportive cycling shoes for racing and touring). Ritchey Aero Tour rims and Pro Disc hubs withstand roots in the trail and potholes in the road. Selle Royal Viper saddle is anatomically contoured and padded for rough riding conditions. The same gear mix also performs yeoman's duty hauling a bike, plus its rider and touring gear over long mountain passes. Two-piece crankset with integrated cups weighs less and is more easily maintained than conventional cranksets. When the race is close, 48/38T chainrings and 11/34T nine-cog cassette dish out the power you want for quick, steep climbs and fast, muddy sprints.
