The Retro Image Apparel Popeye Jersey is a comfortable half zip jersey that features everyone's favorite sailor Popeye.  Popeye made his first public appearance on January 17, 1929 in Elzie Segar's then 10-year-old comic strip, "Thimble Theatre," which originally revolved around Olive Oyl's family. Popeye soon became the star, upstaging the original cast of characters. It was during this period that Popeye's spinach obsession became an indispensable plot device for his later adventures.
