The new M-952 BB uses sealed cartridge bearings instead of the old needle bearings the M-950 used. An oversize 22mm hollow pipe billet axle reduces weight and increases strength and rigidity. 8-spline interface between the bottom bracket axle and crank proivder a more rigid, secure crank assembly. Maintenance free sealed cartridge keeps out dirt, mud, and water, and also allows bottom bracket to be installed quickly without adjustment.
